3-minute typing test.
Build a little staying power. Type the words to start.
Type the displayed passage in order. Backspace corrects the last character. Paste is disabled. Escape pauses. Control or Command plus Enter restarts. Leaving the input pauses the timer.
Make this 3-minute test useful.
A three-minute run shifts the emphasis from a quick burst to sustained attention. If you are preparing for a typing assessment, practise the passage style and duration your provider specifies. This common-word practice is a personal training tool, not a proctored or employer-certified assessment.
Your focus for this run
Choose a pace that leaves room to correct errors. Pause if you need a break; the timer excludes paused time, so the result measures active typing rather than uninterrupted wall-clock time.
How the score works
WPM is correct characters divided by five, divided by active minutes. Accuracy counts all attempted keystrokes, including mistakes you later correct. Switching tabs or leaving the typing area pauses the timer. Personal results stay on this device.
