Type the displayed passage in order. Backspace corrects the last character. Paste is disabled. Escape pauses. Control or Command plus Enter restarts. Leaving the input pauses the timer.
How to practise past-tense endings
Read the visible form before typing. Opened, stopped and carried use different spelling patterns even though they all describe earlier actions. The drill supplies the correct target for copying; it does not ask you to generate a past tense or assess grammar knowledge.
What to check after a run
Check the letter before the ending. Missing a doubled consonant can be easy to overlook when the final ed is correct.

1. Find the pattern

2. Connect the movement
The team planned a new display, carried the paper to the table and stopped beside the window. A short note recorded what changed after the draft was opened.
3. Apply it in context
Jamie wrote the caption while Rowan checked the map. They moved the title, trimmed the sample and placed it beside the earlier version. The fictional review ended with a question about the page order. Preserve each supplied verb form rather than replacing it with the first familiar ending.
