Your daily best

Only your runs in this browser, with this pace and key set. Day resets at midnight UTC.

Up to 100 game results stay on this device. They are separate from typing-test history; clearing site data removes them.

How to play Falling Letters

Choose All letters, Home row or Numbers, then start the game. Type a visible character before it reaches the floor. When several targets show the same character, the lowest one is caught first. A missed target costs one life. The round ends after 60 active seconds or three misses, whichever comes first.

Gentle gives each target nine seconds to fall and introduces a new one every 1.9 seconds. Steady uses 6.5 seconds and a 1.3-second interval; Brisk uses 4.5 seconds and an 850-millisecond interval. Choose the pace that lets you recognise keys comfortably. Changing the pace or key set starts a fresh game.

Points, streaks and accuracy

A catch earns ten points, plus two points for each previous catch in the current streak, capped at twenty bonus points. The first three catches in an uninterrupted streak therefore earn 10, 12 and 14 points. A wrong key or missed target resets the streak. Wrong keys do not remove a life; targets reaching the floor do.

Key accuracy is matched character attempts divided by all accepted character attempts. A missed falling target affects lives and the streak, rather than adding a physical key attempt. Points measure this game's rules and are not WPM or a typing qualification. Compare scores only with the same pace and key set.

Make a game useful for practice

Begin with home-row keys if you are still learning their positions. Look for a target, find the key without rushing, then return your fingers to a comfortable starting position. After a round, choose a difficult letter in custom-key practice. Finish with a normal typing test to see how isolated movements connect to words.

Pause with Escape or the pause control. Leaving the game input or switching tabs pauses active time and target movement. Reduced-motion settings replace falling targets with stationary tiles and countdowns. A phone keyboard works through the game input; a physical keyboard is usually more practical for touch-typing exercises. Sound is optional in Preferences.

Your daily scores and community board

Your last 100 game results stay in this browser when storage is available. The daily list contains your real completed runs for the same game, pace and key set, using a UTC day. It does not contain sample people or invented positions. Clearing site data removes local results.

When the community board is available, a Steady round with All letters can be started as a ranked run. You choose whether to publish an alias and aggregate result afterward. These are browser-submitted practice scores, not independently verified competitive records. Only the best score per browser and game is kept for the current UTC day.

Choose your next exercise

Build a drill from your difficult keys, follow the typing-games practice routine, or try a one-minute WPM test. For different play, choose Word Rush.
