Word Rush Typing Game.
One word at a time. A little more flow.
Type each whole word. A correct word starts the next one automatically.
Current word: rhythm
Your daily best
Only your runs in this browser, with this pace and key set. Day resets at midnight UTC.
Your first completed game starts today’s list. No sample players or invented scores.
Up to 100 game results stay on this device. They are separate from typing-test history; clearing site data removes them.
How Word Rush works
Start a 60-second round and copy the highlighted word. Each correct character fills the word. Completing it brings up the next target automatically; there is no Enter key or space to submit. A wrong character stays out of the answer, lowers accuracy and resets the word streak. Try the expected character again to continue.
Short words uses targets of four letters or fewer. Mixed words combines the available lengths; Longer words uses at least five letters. These are practice categories, not measured levels of ability. The words come from a small common-English practice set, so this is a rhythm exercise rather than a vocabulary or spelling assessment.
How points and streaks are calculated
A completed word earns ten points per character. The bonus adds five points for each previous word in the uninterrupted streak, capped at fifty bonus points. For example, a five-letter word earns 50 points at the beginning of a streak and 55 points when it is the second completed word. An incomplete word does not earn completion points.
A wrong character resets the streak immediately. Backspace removes the latest matched letter without erasing earlier attempts from key accuracy. Correct retyped letters count as new attempts, but completion points are awarded only once when the whole word is finished. Your result shows points, completed words, best streak and key accuracy.
Use accuracy to choose your next run
If the game makes you rush, try Short words and aim to finish a few words cleanly. For a harder reading task, choose Longer words. Repeat the same setting before drawing conclusions about a higher score: a different sequence or more familiar words can change how easy a run feels.
Games and conventional tests answer different questions. Word Rush checks one target at a time and uses its own point system. A paragraph includes spaces, capitals and punctuation; a timed WPM test uses correct characters per active minute. Keep those results separate instead of converting game points into typing speed.
Pause, sound and personal scores
Escape, the pause control, a hidden tab or leaving the input pauses your active clock. Resume when ready. Typing sounds and the completion chime are off unless you choose them. Party poppers, a simple checkmark and a still completion style are available; reduced-motion preferences suppress celebration effects.
Your daily best list contains only completed local games, separated by word set and UTC date. Where the community board is enabled, start a Mixed words ranked round and explicitly submit a nickname and aggregate score at the end. No typed keys or practice passages are published. Public practice scores are not independently verified.
Choose your next exercise
Build a drill from your difficult keys, follow the typing-games practice routine, or try a one-minute WPM test. For different play, choose Falling Letters.
