JSON typing practice
Copy small JSON-shaped records with braces, double quotes, colons and commas. Practise symbol accuracy without connecting to an API or database.

{ "title": "Sample card", "count": 12, "ready": true } { "label": "Blue tray", "count": 4, "ready": false }
Type the displayed passage in order. Backspace corrects the last character. Paste is disabled. Escape pauses. Control or Command plus Enter restarts. Leaving the input pauses the timer.
How to practise json typing
Read each key-value pair as a small unit. JSON uses double quotes around string keys and values, while numeric values remain unquoted in these examples. The exercise normalises whitespace, so it measures inline text copying rather than indentation. The snippets are inert text and are never executed or submitted.
What to check after a run
Check closing braces and commas after the letters match. One missing delimiter can be easy to overlook in an otherwise familiar record.

1. Find the pattern
{ "title": "Sample card", "count": 12, "ready": true } { "label": "Blue tray", "count": 4, "ready": false }
2. Connect the movement
{ "draft": { "name": "Paper map", "version": 2 }, "tags": ["sample", "review"], "archived": false }
3. Apply it in context
{ "items": [{ "id": "CARD-014", "colour": "blue" }, { "id": "CARD-041", "colour": "grey" }], "note": "Practice text only", "total": 2 }
