How to practise markdown typing

Read punctuation as part of the target. Hashes, asterisks and backticks are meaningful characters in the examples, while bracketed text and a parenthesised path form a link-shaped string. No link in the typing surface is opened. Whitespace normalisation means the lesson does not assess list indentation or line-based rendering.

What to check after a run

Check pairs of markers and the path after a label. Do not omit markup simply because the words would remain readable without it.

1. Find the pattern

2. Connect the movement

## Paper map review **Keep:** the short title. **Check:** the wider caption. `version: 2` [Original sample](/practice/markdown-typing)

3. Apply it in context

### Comparison notes The **blue draft** has a short introduction; the *grey draft* has a wider index. Copy the reference `MAP-028` before reviewing [the sample page](/practice). These markers are inert transcription targets, not an active document editor.
