How to practise numeric ranges

Read the start and end independently. These exercises use a short hyphen between endpoints, with no spaces inside a numeric range. That choice keeps the keyboard target simple; it is not a rule for every style guide. Do not fill in missing values or shorten a repeated prefix.

What to check after a run

Check the second endpoint before leaving a range. Many plausible mistakes preserve the start but change the span. The visible text is the only scoring reference.

1. Find the pattern

12-18 24-42 105-150 0.5-1.5 08-12 301-310 64-96 7-17

2. Connect the movement

Read pages 14-19, copy samples 021-028 and label boxes 104-140. The practice note includes a range of 2.25-3.75 units.

3. Apply it in context

The mock catalogue groups cards 006-016 on one shelf and cards 060-106 on another. Copy each full range rather than abbreviating its end. A final reference says pages 208-218; keep all three digits on both sides of the hyphen.
