SQL typing practice
Copy read-only SQL-shaped examples with capitals, commas and quoted strings. Nothing connects to a database or runs a query.

SELECT title, colour FROM sample_cards; SELECT reference, version FROM draft_index WHERE ready = 1;
Type the displayed passage in order. Backspace corrects the last character. Paste is disabled. Escape pauses. Control or Command plus Enter restarts. Leaving the input pauses the timer.
How to practise sql typing
Read the selected column names before the table name and condition. The examples use uppercase keywords as a visible typing pattern, not a requirement for every SQL style. All tables and values are fictional. Whitespace is normalised, so focus on text accuracy rather than multi-line formatting.
What to check after a run
Check the condition operator and the closing quote. A plausible query can still differ from the supplied transcription target.

1. Find the pattern
SELECT title, colour FROM sample_cards; SELECT reference, version FROM draft_index WHERE ready = 1;
2. Connect the movement
SELECT category, COUNT(*) AS card_count FROM sample_cards GROUP BY category ORDER BY card_count DESC;
3. Apply it in context
SELECT reference, title, version FROM sample_drafts WHERE colour = 'blue' AND version >= 2 ORDER BY title ASC; SELECT title FROM sample_drafts WHERE title LIKE 'Paper%';
