How to practise three-letter patterns

A familiar ending can support rhythm, but it should not replace reading. Look at the full word before committing to its final letters. These samples group visible patterns for practice; they are not a frequency-ranked language corpus or a test of vocabulary knowledge.

What to check after a run

Review the start and end around a repeated cluster. Errors often happen when the pattern is right but the surrounding letters belong to another word.

1. Find the pattern

2. Connect the movement

The spring stream runs beside a narrow street. Bring the drawing to the station and check the section with the striped border before making another version.

3. Apply it in context

A strong heading gives the introduction a clear starting point. The workshop group is testing a short caption beside the illustration. Each option uses the same paper size, but the spacing changes. Copy the complete words around familiar three-letter patterns rather than predicting their endings.
