How to practise read-ahead word order

Read a few words ahead without jumping to the end of the sentence. Repeated vocabulary can make your hands replay a previous phrase. The samples deliberately rearrange ordinary words, so the correct target comes from the current line rather than memory. There is no comprehension score or hidden puzzle.

What to check after a run

Review omissions and transpositions at phrase boundaries. If you repeated the previous sentence, pause and locate the first word that changes.

Preview the exact targets before choosing a run. Counts include spaces and punctuation after whitespace normalisation.

1. Find the pattern

2. Connect the movement

Put the draft beside the folder, then put the label below the draft. Keep the old map behind the new card and the new map behind the old card.

3. Apply it in context

The short caption belongs above the wide illustration, while the wide caption belongs below the short illustration. A blue label marks the earlier draft and a grey label marks the later draft. Follow the current phrase carefully instead of replaying the order used in the previous sentence.
