How to practise design feedback notes

Notice how a suggestion differs from a requirement. Feedback text often contains could, might or perhaps; omitting these words changes the tone. The examples discuss an invented design and are not findings from a real usability study. The exercise tests accurate copying rather than design expertise.

What to check after a run

Review qualifiers and question marks. Do not strengthen a tentative suggestion while copying it.

1. Find the pattern

The title is easy to find. The caption might need more space. Could the page number move closer to the edge? Keep the map label unchanged for the next comparison.

2. Connect the movement

Feedback on the fictional booklet: the opening paragraph feels dense, but the index is clear. Try a shorter line beside the illustration and compare it with the current sample before choosing a version.

3. Apply it in context

The sample reviewer says the blue border helps separate the card from the page. They ask whether the same effect would work with a lighter border. A final note suggests testing a larger caption rather than assuming it will be better. Preserve the observation, question and suggestion as different statements.
