How to practise inventory descriptions

Read the condition note before moving to the next object. Inventory descriptions are more detailed than a count list, so a missing adjective can make two items appear identical. The samples are original and do not update a stock system. Preserve the supplied wording even when it contains an unresolved note.

What to check after a run

Check the condition and location against the item name. Keep pending checks visible instead of changing them to completed checks.

1. Find the pattern

Item: grey folder. Quantity: 12. Location: shelf C. Condition: sample covers marked. Item: blue tray. Quantity: 4. Location: shelf A. Condition: not checked.

2. Connect the movement

The practice inventory lists six narrow binders with blank spines and three wide binders with paper labels. A separate note records one sample divider awaiting a reference number.

3. Apply it in context

Copy the fictional storage record: eight folded maps in box 14, five caption cards in sleeve 09 and two paper stands beside tray B. The stands have temporary labels, while the maps have final sample references. Preserve that distinction instead of calling every object complete.
