How to practise meeting minutes

Look for verbs that indicate what happened: discussed, agreed or will review. Similar wording can describe different levels of commitment. These original minutes are fictional. The exercise tests copying accuracy and does not teach a legal recordkeeping standard or send notes to anyone.

What to check after a run

After a mismatch, check whether an action became a completed task in your copy. Preserve the wording and the named owner.

1. Find the pattern

The team reviewed two sample covers. No final cover was selected. Morgan will prepare a third example. The next review is on Thursday.

2. Connect the movement

Discussion: the map needs clearer labels. Decision: retain the current page size. Action: Jamie will test a larger title. Open question: whether the index should appear before the introduction.

3. Apply it in context

The group compared the old and new display cards. Rowan noted that the smaller caption was difficult to read. Ellis agreed to print a revised sample before the next session. The team left the colour choice open and recorded it as a question, not a decision.
