How to practise fractions in plain text

The targets use ordinary digits and a slash, not special fraction glyphs. Copy 1/2 as three characters. A mixed number such as 2 1/4 includes a space between its whole and fractional parts. The task requires no arithmetic; concentrate on precise reading and the movement to the slash key.

What to check after a run

Check whether the numerator and denominator swapped. Review mixed numbers separately if the extra space makes you skip a group or merge two values.

Preview the exact targets before choosing a run. Counts include spaces and punctuation after whitespace normalisation.

1. Find the pattern

1/2 1/4 3/4 1/8 3/8 5/8 7/8 2 1/2 3 1/4 4 3/8

2. Connect the movement

Sample A: 2 3/4 units. Sample B: 1 5/8 units. Copy 3/16 beside 5/16, then 7/12 beside 11/12.

3. Apply it in context

The practice note asks for exact text: 1/3, 2/3 and 1 2/3. A second line contains 5/8, 3/8 and 2 1/8. Preserve the slash form even if your device offers an automatic typographic fraction replacement.
